Othuke Umukoro, Nigerian poet and playwright, is a graduate of the Iowa Writers’ Workshop, where he won the Academy of American Poets University Poetry Prize. His first full-length manuscript, Fenestration, was selected by Pulitzer Prize winner Diane Seuss as the 2024 X.J. Kennedy Poetry Prize winner. Fenestration will be published in the fall of 2025 by Texas Review Press, the University Press of Sam Houston State University. Othuke won the Brunel International African Poetry Prize in 2021 and is currently an adjunct assistant professor at the University of Iowa.
